Modern Tsangaya Students Development Association of Nigeria's Katsina Branch Holds Conference to Strengthen Collaboration Among Islamic Scholars and Tsangaya School Teachers, Urges Government and Parents to Provide Suppor

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Katsina State branch of the Modern Tsangaya Students Development Association of Nigeria, under the leadership of Malam Masa'udu Rafindadi, convened a conference aimed at fostering unity among Islamic scholars and teachers of Tsangaya schools. The primary objective of the gathering was to appeal to both parents and the government to offer assistance to Tsangaya schools, thereby enhancing the study of the Holy Qur'an.

During the event, numerous scholars expressed their concerns regarding the challenges faced by Tsangaya schools, particularly the lack of essential amenities such as shelters, boreholes, and sanitary facilities. They highlighted the apparent neglect in these areas, which adversely affects the well-being and health of the students.

The scholars also commended the efforts of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, in promoting religious education. They called for increased attention to improving the hygiene and environment of Tsangaya schools to safeguard the health of the students and enhance the learning atmosphere.

In his remarks, the association's secretary, Malam Dahiru, urged parents who enroll their children in Tsangaya schools to regularly visit and monitor their well-being. He expressed concern over the tendency of some parents to abandon their children at these institutions without subsequent follow-ups, sometimes not returning until the completion of their studies.

In conclusion, the association appealed to the government and philanthropists to support Tsangaya schools by providing necessary infrastructure and improving the learning environment. Such support is deemed crucial for the advancement of Qur'anic education within the community.
